  1. The Westminster 1890 image is pure (and terrifying) AI.

The Crystal Palace image is great through – it’s wild that this incredible building stood for decades when we had photography but no-one thought to take some nice pics. Never seen an image in the aftermath of the fire, great find.

  2. The Limehouse one is the rocket engine from a V2 showing the fuel injectors at the top of the combustion chamber.

EDIT to add https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205019013 which is the original image on the IWM website.

    > THE LONDON BLITZ : V2 ROCKET BOMB INCIDENT AT CHINATOWN, LIMEHOUSE, EAST LONDON, MARCH 1945

Possibly not the same attack, but https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/205022153 is the last V2 to fall on London, again it’s at Limehouse.

  3. Take your AI art and shove it where the sun doesn’t shine.

  4. Nooo plz don’t start putting AI in here I love your photos!!

  5. I have 2 small chunks of the Crystal Palace courtesy of my Grandad, & I absolutely treasure them.

  6. The Limehouse 1944 picture looks like the remains of a V2 rocket engine.

  7. Crazy to think that the 36 bus has been running for over 50 years. Get it all the time. Wonder how many Londoners over the year have travelled on it.
