Yes, it would have been better months ago for the Northern border cities and ammunition to go with them.
Without a doubt I’m sure orders for patriots are through the roof.
But honestly right now we need to be flooding ukraine with patriot systems and missiles, as well as other layers of Air defense like coyote and vampire.. and that gun system Germany has etc.
Patriots should be only used for high value targets and the other layers to the air defense need to be used for drones etc. its just not viable to use it for everything as each shot is like millions of dollars.
Send them a bunch of different layers of defense and let them set them up accordingly.
air defence is a hybrid operation that should not be counting on Patriots and other defensive means alone. Right now Russia is raining down S-300 and S-400 missiles on Kharkiv. These missiles are cheap but evasive, and Russia have hundreds of them in stock. Ukraine possesses about 5 Patriots and is unlikely going to receive an abundant amount. Allies on the other hand cannot spare enough of them for Ukraine.
That’s why Ukraine needs a proactive approach of using F-16s to pluck these S-missiles out within Russian territory. It’s going to be a hell of escalation for the US to take, but could happen after Biden wins his election
