Erling Haaland in the first leg against Real Madrid: 20 touches, 1 shot, 0 take ons. Haaland lost possession on 7 of his 20 touches (35%), the highest on the team, and misplayed 3 of his 9 passes. Neutralized by Rudiger.

  1. There was a sequence where vini was breaking away and Haaland just tracks back and bullies him off the ball. If he starts getting involved in some of the dirty work then he’ll be a right menace

  2. Let’s not get carried away.

Rudi did an outstanding job tonight but don’t expect this to be the norm. Haaland and Pep will adjust. I fully expect Erling to be more of a factor in the return leg. That said, our plan worked out perfectly. Haaland was virtually a nonfactor. I think I only heard his name on three separate occasions.

Shame it was wasted. Rudiger had a legendary performance.

  3. To be fair, Haaland was rather unconvincing last year as well in both games, and yet City managed to completely obliterate us in the second leg.

  4. Pep using haaland as a decoy to open up shooting space for others should be common knowledge by now

  5. lmao only this sub can downplay pocketing probably the best striker in the last 2-3 years. no shame in praising rudi, he’s been phenomenal the entire season. if erling adjusts next game, so will rudiger, i have all my confidence in him
