  1. From the article: US consumer prices came in hotter than expected in March, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics released Wednesday morning.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.4% over the previous month and 3.5% over the prior year in March, an acceleration from February’s 3.2% annual gain in prices. The data matched February’s month-over-month increase.

Both measures came in ahead of economist forecasts of a 0.3% monthly increase and a 3.4% annual increase, according to data from Bloomberg.

On a “core” basis, which strips out the more volatile costs of food and gas, prices in March climbed 0.4% over the prior month and 3.8% over last year — matching February’s data. Both measures were higher than economist expectations of a 0.3% monthly increase and 3.7% annual gain.

  2. This is a disaster. I know America is weathering the economy out of the pandemic better than most countries but JFC we can’t seem to get our footing. Nobody can buy or sell a home and if they even try they are over extending themselves into eventual ruin.

  3. Wait until April. Gas has jumped from $3.20 to $3.50 in the last week near me.

  4. Increasing interest rates has little effect on inflation when corporations are being allowed to continually increase their prices and in effect creating inflation. All the increased interest rates have done is screw over people that need to take loans. They need to come up with another idea to try because this isn’t working and more and more Americans are suffering because of it

  5.  This just in… economists and number crunchers tell people what they already know. The CHIPS act and (ironically)the Inflation reduction act have hardly been spent. The spending these acts require will keep upward pressure on inflation for some time to come.

  6. How much are price algorithms that companies use to increase rents? I saw that the shelter index rose. Also, as we know gas prices start to rise in spring. Not sure if Russian oil facilities getting attacked plays a role.

  7. it didnt come in hot? it is in line with expectations. fake post.

  8. Shocking!!! Just shocking. Who could’ve seen this coming…. Oh, wait, never mind. 🤦‍♂️

  9. if you don’t need a place to live or a car, it’s actually not bad once you get past the headline

  10. Don’t worry, the incessant gaslighting will continue. Just remember, everything is peachy and YOU’RE the problem.

  11. We need Bidenomics to end, too much excessive government spending, runaway debt servicing costs, and a gloomy economic outlook. It sucks that Trump is the alternative but at this point Biden needs to be tossed on his ass or he needs to say he was wrong and take a hatchet to Bidenomics himself.
