Funny how that works.

  1. Art degrees basically exist only in such systems though. Compare them to art schools and their cost in government-lead countries that all rely on oil and other resource exports instead of countries relying on value-adding services like these.

  2. A whiny little bitch being unable to make a living with an art degree is not the fault of capitalism. It is a deficiency of said whiny little bitch.

  3. Chase your dreams. Don’t waste your money on a useless degree though. Most artists didn’t find success because of a degree.

  4. The thing about following your dreams is you have to be competent.

If you are a terrible Doctor or Engineer or Chemist  you can go to jail

If you’re a *bad* artist you’re just gonna be broke.

Nobody complains about 99% of College basketball players not being able to make the NBA they realize there are people much better than them. Arts the same way. There are a lot of people who just aren’t good enough.

  5. Comes down to demand. Dont need a degree for those things

  6. Fuck your greedy money dreams and fuck you for having them! 🫢🖕

  7. You can get a job in marketing, sales, PR, HR, enablement, procurement, etc with any of those degrees. Or you can choose to be a loser and blame capitalism for why you aren’t making $300k every time you play with some water colors or read a book.

  8. On this day of why capitalism bad, we have:

Random argument that no one makes and the chef’s special of why no utopia.

  9. People wanted robots to help with cooking, cleaning, and taking out the trash so people could have more time to create art.

Instead we got robots that create art so we have more time for cooking, cleaning, and taking out the trash.

  10. I mean…you can still chase your dreams. Nobody said anything about making money from them.

I think that part about capitalism is more so a contrast to certain communist regimes in which the gov’t assigns careers/employment to it’s citizens.

You have the choice to be what you want, not a guarantee to make a lot of money.

  11. This is why you’ll never understand capitalism. Prices are a demonstration of what society finds valuable based upon desires and scarcity. You can’t make money with many of these degrees because they simply aren’t valuable based upon how scarce (or not scarce) they are. Im sorry your passion is something that society doesn’t value as much but its the way the world works. Pick a more useful skill or just be prepared to do things for cheaper. I love coaching hockey but make next to no money doing it because society doesn’t need more hockey coaches, it needs more doctors, engineers, and plumbers and wages/prices are the detriminant of that.

  12. Just because capitalism doesn’t reward non-profitable pursuits does not mean that you are not allowed to pursue them if that is your dream. You are not entitled to a reward simply because you are pursuing your passion. So don’t make a bad investment and then act all *shocked pikachu* when that bad investment turns out poorly. You don’t need a degree to learn about history, make art, or write a novel. If those are your passions they can be pursued entirely on your own accord. If you want a reward then contribute something of value to society.

  13. You aren’t contributing to the best of your ability with an art degree either.

Guess who the Bolsheviks tortured to death.
