Russian tank losses are almost equal to the number of active tanks they had before the invasion

  1. I am aware that the Destroyed, damaged, abandoned and captured columns do not add up to the number listed in the Total Losses column.

This is due to the fact I update the total losses column every time Oryx/Jakub updates their list, whereas I update the individual loss type columns only every 1-2 weeks.

  2. Frankly this just makes me question the data as a whole. If this were true we shouldn’t be seeing any tanks in Ukraine as that would mean there are none in training grounds, arsenals, or just on deployment elsewhere.

  3. Not defending anybody: The total of several known and unknown tank pre war is set to 0 (logically). It distorts the absolute and percentage of known losses vs pre-war count. This doesn’t make the title incorrect, just a bit warped for a certain perspective.

  4. Hopefully most of those reserves are rusted hulks that can’t be brought back.

  5. That’s an enormous amount of Franken tanks they put together.

  6. It’s a testament to the bravery, skill, cunning and courage of the Ukrainians that so many machines have been destroyed.

    Slava Ukraine!

  7. Congress needs to get their heads out of their asses and support Ukraine. As a child of the Cold War, this knuckle dragging makes no fucking sense! We have a proven, skilled, trained army doing all the dirty work for us! The good and the bad guys have never been so clear since WW2. Fucking pisses me off.

  8. These are the kind of posts I really like to see. We, this and turret tosses.
