David Cameron rejects Trump’s Ukraine ‘peace plan’ as he warns against ‘appeasing’ Putin. Volodymyr Zelensky has also attacked the idea of giving up swathes of territory to Russia, branding it ‘primitive’.

1. They’re both welcome to win the war in any way they can pay for, but at some point reality has to set in. I don’t support the US footing the bill for a trench warfare style stalemate for the next decade

3. “primitive” is adequate when it comes to Orange Man. Australopithecus would have considered him primitive too.

9. But everybody knows that this is all about Trump getting back at Zelensky because he refused to start an “investigation” of Biden and rehire a Ukrainian prosecutor who was fired because of corruption.

10. Primitive and punitive. What has Ukraine done exactly to warrant such aggression? I mean like actually done proven with evidence? They can scream nazi and yell about the bombings in donbas, but it actually has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt for anyone to take it seriously, not that russia cares. The only thing Ukraine did was decide its future on its own and reject russian influence. Giving up territory to a neighbor who invaded just to steal your land feels punitive.

    Like russia is saying, we will stop killing you if you give us land. Then, in another 10 years, we will come back for the rest. russia can’t be taken seriously because they haven’t been directly honest this entire conflict about their intentions. They’ve revealed them indirectly by saying Ukraine doesn’t exist and it’s russian land. They did so by kidnapping 100s of thousands of people, including children. Or relocating large amounts of people against their will.

    Or destroying any piece of Ukrainian culture they come into contact with that can’t be passed off as russian. Until they come up with a legitimate reason for invading, they are the aggressors who are there solely to steal. Ukraine can’t negotiate with an aggressor like that. The West needs to understand what Ukraine is facing and take their needs seriously.

    We are Ukraine, and if we can’t help them retake their land, then what does that say about us? If we don’t even try? If all we do is give them enough not to die completely? What kind of support is that from an ally?

11. Both trump and russia are primitive. No doubt the commonality upon which their relationship is built.

12. Only if the US is willing to give up Alaska to Russia.

13. Trump will be the next Chamberlain given the chance.
