This painting belonged to my husband’s grandfather, whose own father was a Norwegian ship captain that immigrated to Boston around 1900. My husband’s mother (his father, grandfather, and great-grandfather have passed) knows only that it had some connection to Norway and it had “always” been in his grandfather’s home.
We’ve had it on our own wall for a few years and we’re curious about its actual origin. Quite a long shot, might anyone recognize the artist?
