Frankly, I’m a bit unsure if this subreddit is the appropriate place to ask for stuff like this, but, as the title suggests, I really need help finding the lyrics to a song I enjoy, as I don’t speak a word in your language, and sadly, the YouTube subtitles are unavailable. Figured I might shoot my shot here. The link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDHbqTmTZ7Q&ab_channel=I%C4%BC%C4%A3i-Topic

If you happen to have a bit of time on your hands, please give it a listen and leave a comment with the Latvian lyrics — or give me a rough English translation in case you feel like it (no pressure, of course). Thank you!

  1. Nu tev dzīslās mana asins,
    Nu tu, Lelde, būsi mana.
Gūt var ņemot, – gūt var dodot!
    Dodot gūtais – neatņemams!

    Toti, spēki manī riet,
    Sirds jau mana vaļā veras.

    Es no mūžiem esmu nācis,
    Es uz mūžiem atkal eju.

Vai jau zini, rit tev deja?

Rit man deja – kā es diešu?
    Acu priekšā tu man mirsti!

    Dzīvs un miris kopā der!

    **Translations:**
*(though, keep in my they’re using poetic and even somewhat old language, so the translation may not be perfect. I’m trying to get the point across. Not an expert in the way Latvian language was 100 years ago.)*

Now my blood is in your veins,
Now, Lelde, you will be mine.
You can gain by taking, gain my giving!
What’s been gained by giving – cannot be taken away!

    Tots, my energy is draining.
    My heart is opening up.

    I’ve come from the ages,
I’m now leaving for the ages.

Do you know, are you dancing?

My dance is on – what am I gonna dance?
In front of my eyes you are dying!

    Alive and dead fit together.
