I read that in The Netherlands and other countries they have started mass claims against Google caused by breach in privacy. Is this happening also in Belgium? Maybe Testaankoop would do something?

Google Massaclaim

The Mass Damage and Consumer Foundation is taking Google to court over its Android operating system. Research shows that Dutch Android smartphones systematically transfer large amounts of information about device use to Google, even with the most privacy-friendly options enabled.

Why is Google being sued?

Researchers discovered that a bundle of processes called Google Play Services runs silently in the background of Android smartphones. These processes cannot be turned off or deleted and continuously record what is happening on and around the phone. For example, it is shared with Google which apps you use, which products you order and even whether you are sleeping.

  1. Unless they can fine them several tens of billions euro, anything else is just the cost of doing business. They can afford whatever the puny punishment will be
