Thierry Henry on Xavi: “I don’t know what will happen with Xavi. But from one day to now, Xavi has not become a better coach than he was. I always thought that Xavi was a good coach and he is a good coach. Now that the results have improved, everyone says he has to stay.”

  1. I’m willing to bet that Henry didn’t watch even 10% of Barcelona’s games under Xavi.

  2. 100% – Got to trust in the collective smarts of the Barca board to hire and invest in a coach to lead a project, and then own the decision. The board seems to let the coach catch all the bullets when times are tough, rather than having his back unequivocally and often. This is a board that is not confident or sure of what the project is, or what it takes to build it.

  3. Insane ball knowledge from Henry. We’ve played 4 months of good football and people have forgotten how badly 80% of games have been these last 3 years

  4. Xavi is a great coach but for some reason makes the strangest decisions with line ups and subs (except for yesterday)

  5. The problem is we’re seeing good results but his lineups and subs were god awful

  6. Henry is on point but he fails to understand why people are against him.

As Henry said Xavi is a good coach I’ll add the rookie part.

Most of his shortcomings are based on him not being experienced and great. For better or worse anything other than great is not appreciated by fanbase.

  7. He should still leave imo. He has vision for the club (promoting youngsters, reinvigorating squad performance) but makes extremely questionable decisions at times. He has somewhat restored the club back to its former self but now his work is done and he should hand the reigns over to a more experienced manager.

  8. I dont feel ppl understand that you have to manage the entire squad for a whole season. Ppl question some of his lineups, but even with some weird line ups we have had an insane amount of injuries.
