3. Poll says 24% of republican and 13% of trump voters won’t vote for him if he is a convicted felon. Yes some of those will go back to him but that’s a death sentence for his election chances.

5. Trump has *never* had the majority’s side. But you don’t need the majority to be president. I’m tired of headlines acting like that the majority being against trump is news.

   Let me know when the majority of GOP voters feel some way against trump. Now that’s news.

6. While I agree with the sentiment of “ignore the polls, just vote”, one thing we can take away from the polls lately is that Trump is hemorrhaging support. Based on the past few years, particularly post-Roe, the polls seem to be significantly overestimating Republicans. If Trump is no longer leading in the polls, he is almost certainly fucked. 

   Now to be fair, the election is still 7 months away and the polls can change but from what we can see right now, this election is looking like it could be catastrophic for the Republicans.

    These are felonies. If your average American was facing these charges, their lives would be ruined. They would be facing jail time. Their careers would be over.

    Even further, this case is about election interference. He unlawfully suppressed negative stories with the goal to deceive the public at large. By all accounts, Trump worked to illegally tip the scales and subsequently disenfranchised millions of Americans.

    No President has ever faced criminal charges, let alone dozens of them in 4 jurisdictions. It’s just insane that we’re even asking if this is serious or not – or that we’re even in this position as a country.

    I hope he’s convicted and it actually moves the needle a little bit. It’s the least we can hope for.

11. Can we stop calling this a “hush money” case and call it what it really is? It’s campaign finance fraud and election interreference.

26. I talk to a lot of MAGA fans around here. Not one of them has suggested the hush money case would sway them one direction or the other. The Georgia election interference case is a different story because the charges are much more serious, but we might never get to see how that trial plays out.
