In the US, she’d have been bailed out and all her workers would have lost their jobs and homes.
But Vietnam still has that French energy. France did 17,000 of these.

People here seem to be under the mistaken impression that Vietnam is a socialist nation. It very much is not. After the US/Vietnam war they had a hard shift into capitalism.
And just like how Bernie Maddof and Liz Holmes were fine until they grifted 1%ers and made them look like fools she probably touched one of those live wires too.
Depends on who an American defrauds. You defraud rich people then you’re going to jail. Defraud many working middle class folks or retires, then hell yes, slap on the wrist (such as a fine for 1/100th of your take) and keep your career of defrauding working folks. It’s the American way.

It’s crazy that a financial crime can result in the death penalty. This warrants jail time, sure. But this just seems like it’s trying to shut her up before she decides to talk
With that much money you could buy citizenship of some other country by investing in their economy and then escape all sorts of legal trouble back home.
