Claim Scotland has banned wood-burning stoves is Half True

  1. I suppose it shouldn’t really be surprising at this point that central belt politicians fail to consider rural Scotland in their policy making, but it’s frustrating all the same.

  2. Honestly, the response to new building regulations that say *new* houses should be built to a decent standard and heated renewably has been so melodramatic it should be embarrassing even for ScotPol.

  3. Personally think this isn’t a bad thing per say, ideally all new builds should be build and insulated well enough that they can be properly heated by a heat pump, however I would also not live in a rural home without a wood burner. They are an essential backup source of heat in the event of power cuts/insane energy bill hikes, and you can easily store a years worth of fuel for it in your garden.
