Reading stuff in Anglish a very efficient technique for French speakers to learn English vocabulary.
>remove all french and latin loan words?
in London they already did, good luck trying to understand a Londoner talking.
Recently looked at the anglish sub, and noted immediately that avoiding French and Latin is apparently extremely hard for English speakers. In the most obvious Dutch direct translation I would *scrap* those words (*Alle Franse en Latijnse leenwoorden schrappen?*). We have few words based on *movare*. And *stripping* or *cutting* them are obvious options as well.
You wanna use Germanic loanwords instead?
Setting aside german, since it is neo Germanic, and instead looking at Dutch, specifically Flemish (or even west-flemish if we rly want to stay as close as.possible) since they have change the least from old germanic,.you would need to use “verwijderen” as your loan word.
Idk how to make that one sound English. Dewiden?
Rock piles nostalgics?
Ewwww wtf UK? Couldn’t you just keep german language
English without French words is so neanderthal that they can’t even call basic stuff like table and chair.
*Context*, *people*, and *origins* are of French/Latin origin too.
withdraw
Is it? I don’t get the origin. We don’t have a word that look or sound like remove or move.
The word “English” itself is from french and latin
Loan too right?
Free Englaland
There’s a other guy who does “angleis” or some other Latinised version of English. It’s supposed to be as if the Romans never left but really it’s just english that has been ran through an illiterate Pierre.
It’s a shame because I quite like the concept.
afierran (infinitive) was exchanged for remove. I think it’s related to Swedish avföra and German abführen (both meaning to remove but also to shit)
