Agree with the former, on the fence with the latter
Has this chap heard of wrongful convictions
These are two issues that these lads have absolutely no interest in.
Their main concerns are tossing off the farmers, whinging about public spending on things they don’t like and cosying up to the foreigner hating crowd.
They picked the absolute best photo they could find for the theme
The implementation of both is the tricky part of course but tell me more….
Prostitution is already legal. Pimping is illegal. Brothels are illegal. Im fairly sure selling it on the street is also illegal. It’s also illegal to solicit sex for money. Which kinda makes prostitution illegal but the people selling sex are not criminals and can’t be convicted.
Make prostitution legal but the buying of it illegal?
Puts the onus on the John’s not the workers.
Interesting. Just read in the Galway Advertiser this week that Ireland’s newest “Conservative party” is trying to recruit members in Galway. Legalizing Prozzers isn’t exactly a Conservative stand point although the castration one balances that out I guess!
Also Interesting that former RTE correspondant Ciaran Mullooley has joined them recently.
Dunno what to make of them yet exactly although I am leaning towards a shower of head bangers.
Pity half their right wing buddies have a rake of domestic abuse charges against them
Well that’s a title and half for Friday morning…
Real question: why don’t we chemically castrate offenders in the UK and Ireland?
Edit: not sure why i’m being downvoted. Did my question scare a bunch of sex offenders?
Independent TDs are one of the reasons far-right parties have so little success Ireland. Independents engage in populist, anti-establishment rhetoric with a big dose of clintelism (parish pump politics) that makes them actually present and relatively popular in their communities.
I agree with making prostitution legal and putting all the regulations in to make it safer. I don’t agree with the castrations of rapists but I do believe the sentencing should be on par with murder. I believe that the victims of rape have their lives forever altered by that evil act the sentence should reflect that.

Shooting someone in the leg is a sure fire way to kill them, lots of majors arteries, the damaging of any of which would cause significant blood loss.
I’m pretty sure Prostitution isn’t illegal. However paying for the services of a prostitute is illegal.
So basically what this lad is asking for is that it be made legal for men to use prostitutes.
Make of that what you will……
Was stop there. Sick of Ireland going with all these half measures. I say fuck it. Legalises everything and lefts have a mad max approach to life.
His views aren’t very far from that of your average r/ireland user
I agree with both, a thong does not mean consent and judges do not understand that.
Prostitution is there, making it legal can be very beneficial by it’s workers.
For the record there is significant difference between making prostitution legal and decriminalising it. This seems an off the ball comment and I bet more of his new Cllrs won’t agree.
Based off that title alone he gets my vote.
Chemical castration – sure that’s definitely going to happen in a country where the penalty for sexually assaulting a 16 year old is a suspended sentence. Even if you write the law to say that’s the penalty, it’s going to end up on Martin Nolan’s desk anyway and he’s going to make it a suspended sentence.
Prostitution is legal already. Maybe he means make buying sex legal because it isn’t
pov Ciarán Mullooly anxiously searching for the last text he got from Sean Dorgan
