It’s almost like rent controls, eviction bans and threats of more rent controls caused properties to be taken off the rental market, less building of potential rental properties, and higher rents as the costs and risks of operating a rental property increased 🤔
Scottish Green Party are absolute morons who have done more harm to tenants than any other political party in history, and the SNP are morons for listening to them.
Not enough houses and far, far too many people coming in such a short space of time. I can’t be the only one that’s noticed a marked increase in the amount of “New Scots” everywhere in the city.
At this point Patrick Harvie needs to do a televised address apologising to young renters for fucking them over even more than any Tory ever has.
Look at Austin texas, look at Argentina under Milei – enacting policies that work to reduce rents by building properties and abolishing landlord caps and rent controls respectively.
Work ft can’t afford a mortgage, but can afford to pay rent that’s twice the mortgage on the flat I stay in. Can’t afford to save for a deposit for a mortgage I can’t get and after 4 years of never missing rent I am still in the same position. Fuck this country
