London wins in my books because they are all free.
No need to wait for the 1 free day a month like in other countries.
MoL in the rotunda was always my favourite. RIP
Best museum in Europe is the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin.
While I’m glad to see it up near the top, I feel like the Natural History Museum does need quite a substantial refurb. I’ve been going there all my life, and I feel like loads of galleries, ecology, human biology etc, have closed without being replaced, and the remaining ones are the same as they were 20 years ago, albeit with some displays missing or broken
Wait till they open the secret vatican archives 😀
Tate modern?? Really?
I’m sure I read an article recently bemoaning the fact that UK museum admissions was massively reduced since 2019 and we were falling behind other countries. Was lots of relative %age comparisons so good to see this for us.
I fucking love having museums at my door. The fact that they are free means impromptu museum visits are always on the cards. If you’ve got a spare hour, why not check out the Arnolfini portrait, or Ophelia, or the metamorphosis or narcissus!
I went to all of these buildings and the Prado was by far the worst. A very ugly building as well. The highlight was Goya though.

Is a gallery a museum?
