A fully featured underground school has been built in Kharkiv, and plans are underway for the construction of more such schools.

  1. The school is constructed and designed under all conditions necessary during wartime. 

    Enrollment for the next academic year is nearly complete. It can fit 600 hundred kids. Kharkiv city administration is planning underground school construction in all districts of the city.

  2. I’m glad those are being built for the children, but I hate that it’s now a necessity due to Russian bombing campaigns.

  3. What do you feel when you see this picture?

    It probably feels a little comforting, knowing these kids will be safer. And then you probably thought about how sad it is that this kind of thing is necessary, about how these kids will never have the life they should have had. That these kids have faced monsters **every single day**, and they will never forget the absolute terror knowing this day might be their last.

    If they survive. If their house or school doesn’t collapse in on them with debris ripping through their flesh from the result of explosives flung at them from far away places, *specifically targeting them*. These kids know people are trying to take their lives without having any clue as to why. It’s brutal and no one wants to imagine things like this, but if it hurts your soul to think about the reality these children live in, think about how *they* feel.

  6. The fact that this have became a thing shows you why Russia is a terrorist state and I will never stop hating them

  7. I truly appreciate the engineering and design that went into this. I love the idea of building things underground in general. However as nice as this looks it is a reminder of just how unnecessarily dark things have gotten in Ukraine.
