  1. And google gets its data from where? Have you crosschecked it?

  2. This time of year sand on the roads combined with wind can lift dust from the roads. The problem ends after the sand has been swept and washed away, but that is done once no more sub zero temperatures are expected.

  3. My guess is that the city is kind of in a valley so all the shit in the air gets packed up and cant escape.

  4. They are cleaning sand from the streets this weekend in Lahti.

  5. Studded tyres and the gigantic amount of gravel. Happens every year, kills many people and causes lung diseases, sick days. Completely preventable by using 90% less gravel, banning studs and sweeping the streets in march.

  6. Is that from Friday? Guess what people’ve been eating on Thursday…

  7. Tangent: One of my pet peeves is to interpolate air short-term air quality information from observations in highly-trafficked and populated areas. That way you end with that kind of nonsensical large red blotches.
