Wow, I wandered over to the Property Pin to see what their opinion was on future price movements in the property market, they’ve had great analysis in the past and one of the few Irish outlets to warn about 2008 before it happened. I hadnt been there in a couple of years for some reason but looking at it today its completely degenerated into a screaming mentally ill anti-vax mess, Ive never seen a site go off the rails so badly, its worse than Twitter or Facebook now, pure chemtrails and magnets in the vaccines stuff.

Heres a thread the site admin just posted on the main page, this used to be a place that gave better advice than askaboutmoney or boards (which has also been destroyed), what happened?:

  1. I’ve heard that Broadsheet.ie went the same direction (I haven’t actually checked though).

What’s the plan when there’s no Covid?

  2. Hadn’t been there in years and this is terrible but not unexpected.

This is going to sound terrible but this is exactly what happens when you have a lot of men sitting around speculating on the internet, particularly on a subject that is not always going downward in price, which had been its premise. With property prices constantly increasing, there were no more drops so they had to talk about something else and what was topical and “edgy”? The plandemic, vaccines and other conspiracy shite. This is sad. TPP was a great site. They’d be due a resurgence soon!

  3. Probably it’s just a message board that was popular enough to attract a certain critical mass of users to serve as an audience but which was still lightly moderated enough to allow that sort of shite to thrive (or has admins/mods who are openly conspiracy-nut-friendly).
