  1. I am sure the Supreme Court will be impartial and ensure Biden is on the ballots like they did with Trump! /s

  2. Frank LaRose is one of the worst parts of a state as uninspiring as Ohio. Pretty shit way to be.

  3. Seems like the democrats are playing the game straight across the board. Not cheating or lying The republicans are throwing every punch they can to keep democrats from doing anything good for the country. I can understand negotiating for this and that, but they simply don’t want to play by the normal rules.

  4. Even shadier will be the 9-0 SCOTUS ruling that Red states are free to ban a presidential candidate if they want to, while Blue states absolutely are not.

  5. > Alabama’s administrative deadlines also appear to be more flexible than state officials suggested. Information on historical deadlines is generally scarce, but according to the state’s administrative calendar for elections for the 2020 election cycle, the two major parties were required to certify their presidential candidates by August 20 of that year. Democrats certified the Biden-Harris ticket on the day of the deadline, which was also the last day of the Democratic National Convention that year.

    > But that deadline posed an obstacle to Republicans since their convention did not start until August 24. So how did Trump get on the Alabama ballot that year? State records show that they simply notified the state in advance that he would be the probable nominee. A lawyer for the Republican National Committee sent a formal letter to the Alabama secretary of state’s office on August 20 to declare that it “anticipate[d]” that Trump and Pence would be the party’s presidential ticket nominees.

Never has there been a more clear example of the Republican sentiment, *Rules for thee, but not for me*

  6. Look, Democrats just need to assume Republicans are going to be complete fuck-nuggets from here on out. Move the convention, please don’t fuck this up Democrats by assuming Republicans are going to be reasonable.

  7. Didn’t the Supreme Court rule precisely against this in regards to Trump lol?

  8. They simply can ‘t win by popular vote and never will again. This is the death throws of the dinosaur party and they will cling to power by any means for as long as they can. It looks like they will succeed as the system is so rigged, they simply get away with anything. Bad people have been making the rules for all the wrong reasons. It started with People’s United.

  9. If Biden mounted an insurrection against the country, then keep him off the ballot.

If not, then you’re the bad guys.

  10. Section 3 of the 14th really got them rattled. Patriotism is really a smoke screen for populism.

  11. All they have to do is pull this shit close enough to the election and then drag it out in courts until after the election.

  12. If it happened in a historically red state (a swing state would be different) it wouldn’t affect the outcome… and it WOULD motivate blue voters in swing states to vote blue

Bring it on, you f-ing cheaters

  13. SCOTUS just ruled states can’t do that…so, I guess it would mean Biden stays POTUS

  14. Because Colorado *REPUBLICANS* attempted to take Trump off the ballot?

  15. Didn’t Biden win like 95% in primaries he wasn’t on the ballot for as a write in?

  16. I mean, we see what happens in court when a state actually has grounds to take someone off the ballot: it gets struck down. I’m not sure how well “because, uh…just because” is going to go over for the Rs.

  17. I don’t like the article’s use of the word “retaliation“. They were remiss in pointing out that Andersen was a case brought by Republicans, not Democrats.

  18. Biden should sue citing the recent SC decision.

  19. Interesting it was also Republicans who started the suits to keep Trump off the ballots

  20. These are the same people who claim to love America’s democracy.

  21. I hope the DNC takes this threat seriously.

I remember when no one in their right mind would think we’d watch a president of the United States run an insurrection and then walk free for years later.

I remember when no one in their right mind would think the Supreme Court would seriously consider “presidential immunity” for an insurrection and an attempt to overturn an election.

The Supreme Court is no longer legitimate and the GOP is a conspiratorial criminal organization. They are already planning to overturn the election if it doesn’t go their way.

I hope Biden takes this seriously and the DNC meets the deadline for all states. It matters.
