The thing is – when yousaf speaks no one bothers to listen/pay attention – that is terminal for a leader.
Media reportage on Hate Crime laws send Humza Yousaf’s popularity plunging.
82 out of 129 MSPs voted for it.
But let’s forget we’re a parliamentary system and instead listen to the siren voices of non-dom and foreign billionaires and pretend it’s all one person’s doing.
Thatcher killed the UK.
He’s gonna resign after the next General Election
I’d honestly be shocked if Humza isn’t replaced before the next Holyrood elections.
(Hysteria about) Hate crime laws send Humza Yousaf’s popularity plunging
Fixed it
While the drop in popularity isn’t good news for Yousaf, there’s a bit of a [post hoc fallacy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hoc_ergo_propter_hoc) going on with the Telegraph’s analysis. The survey they’re comparing these survey results with was conducted in January: this survey may reflect that backlash at its peak and be unrepresentative as the backlash ebbs, or it may reflect a build up of other issues.
At the moment, however, the Telegraph’s interpretation mainly tells us about what they want it to mean: that limiting the incitement of hatred against marginalised communities is as unpopular with the public as it is in their offices.
Good the mans a cunt and the law is a waste of everyones time.
I would be far more sympathetic to SNP popularity fraying under bad-faith attacks if they hadn’t made post-truth into an art form long before Farage and Trump came along. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
“The controversial legislation is widely seen to have been botched by the SNP government, with an appeal to the public to report all instances of “hate” leading to more than 7,000 reports in the first week.
Fewer than four per cent of the reports were assessed as actual crimes.”
4% of 7,000 is ………..280. So 280 more criminals in Scotland. SNP fights crime and an election slogan is born.
What’s the score wi your post history mate
Humaza and the Greens really don’t get Scotland at all. If Burns were alive today these are the kinds of people he’d be dissing in his poems. They are the new puritians.
He’s a bam
I don’t care a great deal about the law one way or another. I dislike the SNP at this point because they’re ineffective and plain bad at governing. Their key policies are mostly window dressing but the actual outcomes are mostly poor. Infrastructure, education, health, the environment, crime, economy >>> some shitty culture war issue.
