Mortars from the DPRK in the Russian army. Quote: “ Speaking of the quality of Korean mortars…… 3 layers of paint…. A crooked sprue and as a result the body is in shambles…. Plumage filled with a centimeter layer of solid oil…….. “Guess where I’ll end up”

Yeah.. I would not slide those things into a mortar lmao
Miracle they didn’t detonate during the journey from North Korea.
NK taking the Mickey out of Russia. That’s the quality of your “friends.”
I’ve seen WW2 UXO in better condition than this.
Who would’ve thought that having your starving peasant population fabricate mortar shells from sub-par materials on obsolete machines wouldn’t yield quality products?
The question is the ratio of these in the provided stocks.
I’ll exaggerate but you could pick 2 bad among one thousand properly built and give skewed perception of things…
If the Russian soldiers firing mortars have half a brain, they won’t try to fire such crappy mortars.
I hope they try though, I’m sure the inertia safety in the fuzes malfunction.
So I’m a noob with mortar shells, can someone explain me what I am seeing here that’s wrong?
Load them up Ruzzians, they will only kill you
They can still kill people, no?
Should start the inevitable North Korean War sooner than later.
And people we so afraid of the North Korean assistance to Russia. Anyone who knows anything about North Korea and the state of its military is not surprised at all by this.
The increments look less than equal to each other too.
FYI. Mortar increments are the pouches wrapped on the tail. They are filled with explosives to add blast pressure to make the mortar fly farther. In the US they are more like a half circle packing peanut that slides right on, iirc they are filled with comp-B explosive.
Charge 1 is no increment, only using the integral charge. Each added increment is charge 2, 3, 4.
I’m not an 11C or indirect fire expert but those augmentation charges look ghetto.
Quick how can we make these rounds seem appealing,
“Sir we could paint the outside of the box green”
Good thinking Baldric
Looks used.
its old stuff, its better than having nothin ig
So, 1 million DPRK shells = 10,000 explosions within orcine mortars and 1,000 explosions in general vicinity of AFU. Kim must be laughing his portulent self sillier.
no TQM in this process. obvs
Looks like something from the local army surplus
The box is the best made item in those pictures.
South Korea must be getting some comfort out of this, although I’m sure Kim Jong Un didn’t send their best stock.
Some machinists turn metal to great round objects in their lathes. NK machinists turn scrap metal into scrap metal.
I think these are Kim Fat Dong’s “special” toys. They’ll vibrate if you twist the end.
Everything about North Korea sucks.
It’s old and rusty, I would by happy if NATO could provide AFU at least something like this, instead of empty promises if not less
That’s the problem with authoritarian countries. Meet the unreasonable quota, and don’t care about the quality.
You think NK would send their best stuff?? You think russia would want their best stuff? No.
I wouldn’t even tough those in their containers.
