  1. Oh this thread is going to be full of “buying an election” takes on this one

  2. A handy €25 a week…. an extra takeaway it is then 😊

  3. Obvious. Better than giving the surplus to the next government.

  4. Harris said the income tax band would be moved to 50, but now they’re saying 44?

  5. We’ve learned so much from the financial crash. I’m proud of you guys.

  6. I suspect that the government don’t trust themselves to spend the money.

Housing has always been more an issue of political will than money and coincidentally the front page of the Irish Times is saying they don’t want to pump more money into the HSE for minimal return.

Councils are completely underfunded as well but I don’t think local Govt track record of spending is going to be better than central Govt.

They may not be wrong based on the Children’s hospital, metrolink, white water rafting, HSE etc… But it’s a damning indictment of their management that they can’t effectively solve long standing issues with a massive surplus.

  7. Fuck sake just do something with the money you pack of useless cunts.

  8. Can’t wait for “sure we all partied!” in 5 years time.

  9. You still ain’t getting my vote… get out you’re fired ..

  10. Anyone else getting a whiff of desperation from that?

  11. “Just build houses you cunts”
     – The guy who said it first

  12. Shower of gaslighting fucks. Fuck off you electioneering twats.

    Fool me once….

Actions not words. So many failings with the Government I simply do not trust them anymore.

  13. Sure, what good is €1200 a year. Still can’t afford to buy a house.

The cretins in FFFG are blind to the problems they have created in this country

  14. The Irish budget season is just so weird. People lusting over the details like peasants hoping for crumbs from his lordship’s table. It’s YOUR money. They’re not “giving” you anything. The media has a lot to answer for in terms of how it frames these things every single year.

  15. Tax cuts right before an election are NEVER a good sign. Oldest and shallowest trick in the book. Surely people won’t be fooled so easily…?

  16. I don’t want you to give me an extra 100e a month for fuck sake. I want you to invest in public infrastructure.
