  1. this is NOT what i was expecting. how are the nordics so high!?

  2. Netherlands has to be much higher than 5.1.
Everyone is constantly drinking coffee here

  3. Luxembourg :0 Although I get why, having worked there: a HUGE part of the workforce is non-resident, and working in office. Meaning huge amount of coffee, but divided by a local population which is only a fraction of the actual coffee-drinkers!

EDIT: data are from 2019, I did my part!

  4. I won’t believe Ukraine stats. I can’t possibly walk over 2 minutes without being able to buy a cup of coffee, and always have to wait in a line. Everyone is obscessed with coffee. Like, how much could you Swedes possibly drink?!

  5. Finland, the happiest country on the planet, all buzzing off their tits on caffeine, all the time.

  6. Surprised about Scandinavia… they’re chill people and if they drank that much coffee, wouldn’t they be hyper, wound up all the time?

  7. Netherlands ds used to be the highest in the world not that long ago. It hasn’t gone down that much

  8. Does this refer to raw beans, roasted beans or brewed coffee?

  9. Anyone have the data for number of squares of toilet paper used per person, per annum?

  10. No surprise here the Finns love their coffee and drink multiple cups a day but they don’t do espresso

  11. Going by this chart, it turns out I’m not British – I’m Finnish!

  12. Finns got that filter coffee just dripping all day so they never have to take a pause. No joke.

  13. How is it that low in Turkey? We literally have our own signature coffee.

  14. I’m surprised cause every other source I’ve even seen always puts the Netherlands in pretty much with the Nordic countries and much more than this. Wonder where they got their statistics.

  15. It’s mad how close Ireland is for both tea and coffee. And I don’t drink either so I’m treated like some kind of freak.

  16. Pretty sure it’s wrong about Ukraine. We have coffee shops every few steps and cheap specialty coffee (like 0,75-1$ simple arabica espresso and 1,25-1.5$ specialty) here and there. Some places have like 4-5 coffeeshops 2-3 meters from each other. So people drink coffee like crazy. Specialty coffee, filter, all sorts of vegan milk, etc. everything that you can dream of in coffee.

Typing this drinking my 4 coffee cup this day. It’s orange filter coffee.

  17. •No surprise.

    •Cold northern climates = Colder weather +
Longer, darker winters = Higher coffee consumption

  18. Leading Coffee-Drinking Country: In 2023, Finland

  19. That’s why my summer car has 4 drinks – water, beer, boose and coffee

  20. If My Summer Car has taught me anything, Finland’s second place is deserved.

  21. Sweden here. We just found out that our city spends ~€1,5 millions per year on coffee/tea/pastries for its workers. I see the number ~2000 quoted as people working for the city. There’s only about ~23k in population in my town. We like coffee.

  22. 25.1kg/capita/year in Luxenbourg?
Oh, comon…it’s like 2kg/month…0.5kg/week…75g/day…more or less 10 espresso per day…on average.
Luxembourg is quite bizarre place, TBH…but it’s still blow my mind.

  23. GRABBAR NI MÅSTE STEPPA, VI KAN INTE FÖRLORA TILL FINLAND

  24. Thought Italy and Turkey would be higher, a lot of signature coffee styles invented there

  25. Huh, I don’t know what is going on up north but I would have guessed we would be in the top spots easily. Coffee culture is huge here, we’ve got our own unique coffee drinks (mostly iced ones), there is a cafeteria in every corner and everybody drinks multiple cups of coffee every day (apart from me lol). Maybe we consume fewer, stronger turkish/espresso variants or other countries are even more addicted.
