Slechts één partij wil de banken niet verplichten om de rente op te trekken

  1. So first our government sees it fit to tax savings accounts outside of Belgium at 30% rather than the 0 or at worst 15% for internal savings accounts, and now they *dare* to claim that there isn’t enough competition? *You, the government* are responsible for this lack of competition!

Last year they had a mechanism through e-DEPO which could force the banks to increase their interest rates, so what to they do? They cap it at 2.5% minus 30% RV.

They also tried giving out state debt certificates, which did increase interest in the private market, even if only temporary. So definitely don’t repeat that.

No, instead we’re just going to vote a law that forces banks, because direct government meddling is what we do.

  2. >“Het verleden leert ons dat overheden best niet zelf bankier beginnen te spelen”, schrijven de liberalen van Open VLD.

    Voorbeelden aub?

  3. Kinda BS if you think none of the current parties wanted to force this issue when it was actual and now suddenly almost all of them claim they really want to.
