I can’t say I feel bad for her. She literally had one job, and couldn’t do it. Hope she’s also blacklisted from any job ensuring anyone or anything’s safety

Are we still pretending jail is about rehabilitation? Because if so, what are we rehabilitating? This is a first offense and she got the longest sentence allowed. This isn’t a criminal. It’s someone who made a tragic mistake at their job.
If a nurse tries their very best to save a patient but makes a mistake resulting in their death, I don’t think they should be criminally liable. I understand getting fired. I understand the family of the victim suing the hospital for millions. But criminally liable?
When Brandon Lee died in a similar situation filming The Crow, nobody was charged criminally but the studio was sued big time by the family. I think that makes more sense.

Why US judges often speak in this emotional manner
If I were Alec Baldwin I’d be suing her too. Can you imagine the guilt you’d feel from accidentally killing somebody because that person didn’t do their job. I’d be wrecked.
Wanting to play with live ammo in the desert is the real gravity here. People wanting to shoot guns for real is why this tragedy occurred, but wanting and getting to play, by senior staff etc will always be irrelevant thanks to our garbage culture. I blame the people wanting to shoot live ammo, creating the situation that is now under the microscope.
How anyone involved thought putting live ammo in the prop weapons was a reasonable idea is beyond me.

She did. No one else should have ever been charged. She loaded a live round into a prop. She murdered that woman.
Whole thing is tragic but she had one core job – keep the weapons safe. Turns out it’s simple – shake a blank bullet, it makes a noise. No noise, assume it’s real.
That is literally all she had to do when loading the gun. Instead, if rumors are true, her focus was on partying and goofing off. She had a job that required maybe 10 minutes of her focus per day and she couldn’t even do that.
Also of note is her many jail house calls between convictions and sentencing were used against her. Something to keep in mind if you or someone you care about winds up in jail and convicted. Probably best to keep those calls going through the lawyer as those are not supposed to be recorded.
