6. I’m curious as to whether *any* of the Hamas leadership really thinks they can coax Israel to just end the war + release a large number of convicted terrorists with basically no grantees regarding the safety of hostages or Israeli civilians going forward

   It seems unlikely that Hamas is still truly aiming to achieve that, and virtually impossible that it would happen. Rather I’d wager they’re stalling for time hoping that the worsening humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip somehow forces Israel to curtailing their war objectives, enabling Hamas to remain in power there

7. Hamas has no incentive to make a deal at this point. Maybe they’re delusional enough to think Israel will forget the whole thing that ever happened and they’ll get bags of money from the EU..

11. Hamas lost. Taking this deal would spare them the inevitable Israeli assfucking that is about to occur. The only thing stopping Israel, is the paralyzed Republican Congress in Washington. As soon as Republicans get their shit together and pass a budget, Biden will have all the tools, weapons and ammunition needed to help Netanyahu with a very invasive anal probing.
