Are there any investment funds that short the worst polluting companies?

1. It would be an extremely risky way to invest.

   Shorts expose you to unlimited losses and with current policy, there doesn’t seem to be any systemic threat to these corporations in the short or medium term.

2. When it’s more profitable for a company to pollute and just pay the fine I don’t think shorting is gonna work.

3. Well, divestment is a thing, but shorting is different. Seems like a bad move if they expect that it will continue to be profitable to pollute. Rather than short the stock and risk losing billions, they divest from the stock. Still not very impactful to the polluting company, but that’s why we need collective political action and not just consumers and businesses trying to do market manipulation.

4. Well, I do know for a fact that Fidelity has a “green portfolio” you can choose to invest in. I think it’s becoming a much more popular option. I feel like it wasn’t available ten years ago. You used to have to do a ton of research to invest green.
