Same way the Irish government has dragged its feet on an investigation in Monaghan and Dublin bombings despite the overwhelming evidence of British state collusion
What sort of “justice” are they looking for? Do they want compensation for the victims families?
Sinn Féin were the canary in the coalmine for all this to be fair, the establishment parties have been slow on the uptake but in the last year it seems they all, even Fine Gael, have discovered a new found republicanism
Given the prospect of Westminster passing legislation which will end any prospect of civil or criminal investigation s or inquests in regards to the troubles, maybe the Taoiseach should focus his Indignation on using the Irish judicial system to investigate these atrocities.
Or even just investigating and seeking to extradite suspects, and to bring prosecutions here in cases where British forces, or their paid agents, made incursions into the jurisdiction of the state and committed acts as serious as murder.
What fecks me off a lot about this is that the Irish Government still in some ways can’t get over the small kid that used to get bullied persona when dealing with the UK.
I understand that stability often triumphs all but sometimes saying and doing the right thing has to be done.
British organisation actively killed Irish Citizens, colluded with loyalist murder gangs to kill innocent Irish Citizens, believed to have provided logistical support for loyalists to bomb Dublin/Monaghan, tortured Irish citizens, interned Irish citizens.
They pissed on successive governments and told them it was raining, then the government told the public to wear an umbrella.
If Brexit showed anything it’s that Ireland can’t be pushed about by the UK anymore, it’s now part of a larger economic Union and has a strong assertive voice.
Are we really going to let Boris Fucking Johnson deny justice to innocent Irish state murder victims without using our voice at the EU, the UN and every other organisation to expose the warcrimes that were committed on this island?
Cue the DUP bingo:
‘inflamatory language’
‘destabilising’
‘provocative’
‘interfering’
etc. etc. etc.
Well he’s a fucking expert at dragging his feet.
And you’s should be brought before the courts for wrecking the Irish economy.
More than once
Feels like this is being said now cos Boris is on the way out so they have more to be getting on with
If we can’t beat SF, we’ll say things that we think their voters want to hear.
That’ll work, right?
Right?
Guys?
a poison chalice to any gov in the uk, not that that would bother these tory fux(a lot of military in the tory ranks). The voting electorate is mostly the elders, who lived thru the “IRA is the bogeyman” phase, that’s ingrained.
They see, in their heart of hearts, that these murdering reprobates pretending to be honourable soldiers, are their Heroes, no matter what. Any gov that starts prosecuting “our boys, our lads, best in the world” etc, is done. they shit themselves with corbyn so much they just had to connect him to the ira and he was done. mention maria gatland and its fingers in ears and “la la la la” , its a mentality that wont shatter. just eventually die. If they rallied around hutchings, and think bloody sunday murderers were justifed, no matter whats done in her majestys uniform its mitigated . I mean, who is sitting in judgement at all this, the perpetrators and the enablers. Even this delaying and dragging heels is a tactic, their mantra ” Deny Dementia Death ”

Britannia Delenda Est
It’s just words, they’ll still want to go commemorating the RIC and going on BBC to show off their loyalty by wearing the Poppy.
What is the leader of a charity organization going to do about it anyway?
Feels strange saying this but I agree with Micheal this time.
We should investigate ourselfs and bring them here to face charges.
Awesome, now do the Catholic Church.
If he had the balls he’d tell the UK gov to either take responsibility, or face possible legal action. But he’ll just say what sounds good and stroll on.
