Im sure there will be investigations and people will go to jail. Also, Im sure the firms that received the insider information reported the sharing of such information to the proper authorities and didn’t act on the information.

As always the devil is in the details. No inflation data was “leaked” or given away early or illegally.
Analysts from banks and hedge funds asked the government about how inflation numbers are calculated and the government worker answered those questions.
Tax payers asking questions about how the government does it job and the government responding is actually good governance. We are just so jaded that it seems shady.
