    From there, Ritchson writes that FOP “haplessly fired multiple shots” at him because he “called for more accountability.” Ritchson goes on to say that he knew he would get pushback from “people like you who crave a pat on the back and zero accountability” and that bravery also means standing up to the system when it needs to be challenged. “I’ve never been a fan of blind allegiance, which is dangerous and fertile ground for fascism, a political persuasion I’m averse to,”

  8. He just said cops get away with murder. You can analyze it from whatever perspective you want but still is true. The problem is that fragile cop “fraternities” got offended at someone pointing out a fact. Giving him yet another chance to get owned and exposed for being the delicate impulsive little flowers they are.

  21. The question I always ask cops is, how many cops have you arrested during your time in service. If they answer zero, i know im dealing with a bad cop.

  22. This is exactly what we need right now. A “man’s man” with a brain and sensitivity, who is speaking out on issues. Too bad he’s not also a comedian. Granted I only know a few very limited headlines from him but what I’ve seen so far seems good.

  29. What a measured response to some bullying tactics by the FOP. I’m in federal law enforcement and did 20 years in military police, and I fully agree with Mr Ritchson. I’ve met brave officers who would give you the shirt of their back and I’ve seen others who are basically an empty uniform collecting a paycheck. Then there are a certain amount who have no business carrying a badge and gun at all.

    These institutions can’t be untouchable and have to remain transparent at all times to maintain public trust. And yes we should absolutely raise the entry requirements and standard of training. For example, if you want to become a LEO in Germany the training and probation to go from apprentice to journeyman is 28 months before you can perform all required skills and tasks unsupervised.
