Everyone noticed, no one was surprised about anything other than the people willing to support this government.
Inept at anything other than marketing themselves, lining their pockets, making the system unfair etc etc
Now here’s something people should actually be furious about and it’s not just Boris the the whole corrupt nest of them that all need to be kicked out of office but instead people are ignoring this and concentrating on what the media are telling them to be angry about. Boris and his Xmas drinks pale in comparison to this and many other henous things the government has done and is doing.
He got so used to throwing dead cats onto the table Boris didn’t realise he was the latest one.
And now, when just about the whole country wants dorris to resign, magically they have found a Chinese spy in government. What a convenient time for that to come out
Ok, so it was unlawful. But nobody is facing any sanction. None of the contracts are being voided. No money gets repaid. Nobody is being charged with misconduct in public office. So what was the point of the judgement?
The line between reality and satire is scarily thin.
Unlawful PPE contracts
Chinese spies in parliament
Queen revoking andrews titles
Covid garden party
Feels like they are just throwing as much out into the news as they can to cover up something and I don’t know which one is worse or which but they’re covering up
Well these were PPE supply contracts which were critical under a pandemic. A certain amount of procedural leniency can be offered in those circumstances. The judge also opined that it was highly likely these contracts would have been awarded anyway. At the moment I feel there are far bigger issues the govt should be addressing, though like everyone else I feel the govt should address the flaw in the system… especially now as coronavirus is becoming a smaller and smaller issue in this country
Just to put that into perspective, that would pay for 13 new Hinkley C size nuclear power stations which would solve our energy reliance on the middle East and Russia at the same time as allowing the UK to roll out electric heating and EV which could have got us to net zero within a decade along with solving energy poverty for the poorest in the country.
But yeah, some Tory donors are a much more important use for the funds…
ETA: I misread this as billion and not million so ignore the math.
You always have to ask yourself the question when a dominating news story like Boris having a glass of wine happens -:what is this story covering up in the news that they don’t want reported. And, of course it was the Tories awarding their mates illegal ppe contracts. Just like the alleged fishing spat with France over fishing rights around the island of Jersey last year, happened right at local election time.
