My (Spanish) father attends a Romanian church some protestant denomination.
There is like 150 members or so, some of them got COVID and they had to get hospitalized a women almost had a miscarriage etc My dad is quite old and he ended up being hospitalized twice with COVID-19 in September/October 2020 he had it rough and I’m so sure he got it there.
Long story short they’re not taking any vaccine and the masks are used only because they have to, in words of one of his church friends:
“No, I’m not taking any vaccine (my dad’s name) I’m not worried, I don’t need it we have God”
I’m guessing it’s a thing between Romanians or at least between the religious ones.
I can’t hate them they give me possibility to have online lessons in my university

That is not the Romanian flag to begin with.
This view – as in many other former communist countries – has at least some causes:
– capitalize on the 30 years of destructive education
– distrust in administration based on historical corruption.
– the orthodox church increased its power to get more power by vouching politicians.
– general corruption, in almost 3 decades eroded almost every value a community could have.
With this background and a profound lack of coherent identity, the stories told by the communists – RO being one of a kind, protected by providence, brightest of the brightest and so on – started to resonate and in time (about 20-25) years it became, well… a problem.
On short, its utter garbage and these poor people are fooled by populist radicals and scrupulous orthodox priests. Durimd this pandemic some good tens of thousands of lives were lost uselessly…

Because of 5-6 stupid romanians, now all romanians are stupid and antivaxers…. I admit, 80% of romanians are stupid, but not all of us.

Just get vaccinated. I had COVID it nearly killed me and left me with long term lung damage that was a year last May . I have now had all 3 vaccination whish could if them before I got COVID I can’t imagine it would have made things worse
