Help in choosing the right jacket.

I like the style of this jacket but it is categorized as a ski jacket. I want to use it for everyday wear during winter months when the weather drops from +5 to -5. I want to ask if this will be identified as a ski jacket and be fashionably a wrong choice. I come from a warmer climate, therefore, I feel chilly as soon as the weather drops below 12 degrees. (temperatures are in celsius)

If it's a wrong choice, then can you recommend some good brands that insulate better but don't have bulky heavy jackets?
