I honestly do feel terrible for these poor Russians from somewhere far beyond Moscow who are lined up as cannon fodder. They are probably brainwashed by propaganda to the point that they never stood a chance. Fuck war and fuck Putin.
Weren’t there numbers half a year ago that were at least 3 times that number? Why would the BBC now present lower numbers than were considered “official” half a year ago?

Doesn’t matter. Nobody cares about russian meat, russians don’t care about their own casualties. My own family starts to pity russian soldiers now more than russians do and we have been hating anything russian for 120 years now.
Russia will sooner run out of bullets before they run out of meat to throw at Ukraine. The only solution is to give Ukraine more weapons to stop them before they even can attack. Simple as.

They are estimating a number lower than the russian state has paid out in compensation to the soldiers families.
Mobilisation waves alone compared to the numbers fighting on the russian side start 2024 should tell you that this estimate is the lowest of all lowest estimates.
Rookie numbers, more are needed.
I really feel for the Ukrainians, the trauma of killing that many must be a hard burden.

That’s just Russian mercenaries making up half of that number. The number has to be significantly higher than 50k deaths. Such a waste of life and Russia already had a shortage of men from lingering from the effects of WW2.
