It’s been over a decade since Republicans have said they’d terminate ObamaCare with no replacement.
Perhaps it’s their new rage bait since they actually succeeded in getting Roe v. Wade overturned.
Well yeah. They’ve tried to eliminate the affordable care act for a very long time. I remember it was a huge deal when republicans had control of everything when Trump was in charge the first few years of his presidency.
The issue?
They were going “We’re going to remove this disaster of Obamacare and we’re going to replace it with something. We don’t know WHAT we’re going to replace it with yet, but we will.” they couldn’t get it to pass despite controlling everything, and they went on so many vacations that they eventually just moved on to something else.
When you are incapable of delivering on anything but a steady stream of criminal indictments …
I guess people like me pointing out we die if the ACA goes away finally gained enough traction in public discourse that he needs to lie about the plan.

Thank you President Trump for finally standing up for American workers! These lefties keep trying to prevent the patriots of this godly nation from overpaying for private insurance that fights you tooth and nail to cover anything. Sickos. If we want to bend over and take it from insurance companies, it’s our god given right!
it’s interesting that he refers to it as the ACA here, instead of Obamacare, as he had been. I suspect it’s because he is reaching out to voters who like the ACA and don’t realize that it is just Obamacare. Kind of like how Kentuckians loved Kynect, which was just Obamacare with a different name.

The thing about this race is that it’s two former presidents running for office.
Trump running to be elected a second time.
Biden running as the incumbent.
Which is interesting and rare. Instead of Trump telling us what he would do, we can just go look at his record and see what he did do.
Same for Biden.
And we can clearly see what Trump’s vision of the country would be. People are “uncovering” shit from Trump’s first term like it’s some kind of secret.
In every single presidential budget that Trump put out while in office, he always cut SS and medicare. ***Every time.***
Trump is also dumb enough and stupid enough to be tricked into doing things he said he wouldn’t do.

Too many people have forgotten what things used to be like.
If you EVER had a single gap in your health insurance coverage it meant you lost health insurance *for the rest of your life*
Which meant if you got laid off and couldn’t find a new job immediately or afford COBRA extension you lost health insurance for the rest of your life.
And also if you ever went over $1,000,000 in total combined lifetime medical care costs, your coverage was over— forever. “Lifetime policy limits”
If you got really sick or had a costly problem the health insurors would hire teams of investigators to dig into every medical record in your life. Any discrepancy or omission meant they retroactively cancelled your insurance, mail you a refund for your premium and deny your claim. They were called “policy rescissions”
You couldn’t stay on your parents health plan past like 21 years old, and if you failed to buy coverage right away then you lost insurance coverage for any existing chronic condition forever.
Obamacare got rid of all of that stuff
Republicans have never come up with a “replacement” plan because their plan is and has always been to go back to the way things used to be.
He had four years for “Infrastructure Week”, Obamacare repeal, Jailing Hillary, all of it. He wont do any of it because thats not why he wants to be president or why hes running.
Biden should play this video over and over in campaign commercials.
Like so many late night show clips, I’ve got a friend that:
1. Hates Obama Care and believes it somehow benefits Obama directly.
2. Loves and uses the Affordable Care Act Marketplace because offers him insurance that includes his pre-existing conditions.
I have not and have no desire to tell him.

Lots of people would loose medicaid and federal exchange funding. 41 states have expanded Medicaid. As of June 2023 it was 39 states and 24 million on medicaid expansion. About 21 million via federal exchange.
How do you unwind other changes in healthcare policy and law from the ACA without leaving major holes in coverage or things that don’t make sense? It’s not like health policy froze in 2010 and every state has its own medicaid system so their is a wide range of policy/rules.
Denying over 40 million people healthcare is a good policy?
He sure backtracks a lot, and got caught. All those articles on his deflection and denial patterns is doing some good!

This is Trumps mindset.
Obamacare was only a stopgap to make sure that all Americans would be insured, it was never supposed to be a permanent solution, but Republicans have stood in the way of fixing it for over a decade now. They also had their turn in office to “Repeal and Replace,” but they concentrated on the “Repeal” part without having anything to “Replace” it with–thank goodness they failed or some 3 million Americans would have lost their healthcare!
Our healthcare system is seriously messed up, and I’m convinced the best way to fix it is the Single Payer system. Right now insurance companies are raking in billions and providing next to no benefit to their customers, a Single Payer system would create competition for government contracts and lower costs to citizens. We also need to stop tying our health insurance to our employers, it prevents employees from leaving their jobs to look for work elsewhere, which often leads to employers abusing their power over their employees.
Does he ever open his mouth without lying?
The video show how much sharper he was in 2018. He could really talk sharply compared to the weird doozy rambling he does nowadays.
The only reason why he wants to terminate it is because it’s called Obama care, not TrumpCare
