For some reason I got downvoted for saying this previously. In my opinion, The public need to do a better job of stepping in and stopping this also. The law clearly doesn’t protect the women and children enough so something has to change going forward or I fear for all people living in Ireland.
I remember photos of hik going around asking if anybody knew him when this happened.
There was the whole look at the racists thing again and saying that it never happened.

My mother saved a girl one day on the bus. She saw a man trying to creep on her, and my mam went over and told the girl to get up and sit with her instead. Poor kid was so scared.
Jude Nolan would give him 2 years suspended and a pat on the back for not taking it further
Sort of tangential, but I wish they’d never abolished bus conductors. Our freedom to travel unmolested might be greater if these creeps knew there was this kind of guard figure on board, plus of course it might deter teenage scrotes from making nuisances of themselves.
The sad part for me is that he is Indian. Such people make it harder for other indians to be seen in a positive light. He should be deported, doesn’t deserve to be in the western society.
This is a cultural issue, which is not the same thing as racism. Some cultures clash in major ways with Ireland in terms of cultural values and norms. That’s not to say that this sort of behaviour is broadly accepted anywhere — but it’s tolerated to much greater extents in some places than it is in Ireland.
I think there should harsh penalties for anyone who comes into Ireland and victimises someone, in order to set an example to deter others from doing the same. I also think we need to be a lot more selective about who we allow into the country; that’s not to say that those policies would have prevented this particular incident, but they would certainly prevent others.

Could we as a country please do a thorough vetting system (like Australia or other countries) for male specific applicants entering the country. As due to the sudden surge in male applicants coming to Ireland. Am all for travel but we just need a good system in place and we dont. As we have enough of our own local sickos without importing other countries.

I’m glad more people are reporting when this happens and forcing things to be done.
This is not new or “happening more often”. People are getting less tolerant of harassment and are reporting.
3 generations of women in my family will give you horrible stories of this kind of thing. But kept it to themselves because 1) they were never taught about creeps or how to deal with them as kids and 2) they were told nothing could be done and that’s life.
More pics and videos being circulated on social media as well so more eyes on this behaviour. Creeps can’t hide in the community anymore and rightly so.
Irish people are doing this as well it’s just the news loves telling people about the foreigners and riling people up for more engagement. More engagement= more money.
