Background, I live in a camp with 2 asylum seekers in one room(one from Egypt and the other from Algeria).
I am an asylum seeker myself too, I'm registered in this camp and I have all my clothes and personal belongings there, 🔒 locked in a closet.
I don't sleep there, I always sleep at my girlfriend's place because it's closer to work and the Algerian guy is always smoking weed in the room and I have asthma so it just isn't working.
On Sunday the Egyptian roommate calling me saying the Algerian guy for some reason threw all our stuff outside from the 2nd floor window, police went there and spoke to the social worker and they eventually sent him to a different place on Monday.
Today I went there and I found all my stuff outside, a gold medal that I bought for 300€ and all my savings since I came to Germany are all stolen (around 1050€).
The Egyptian guy already spoke to the police when they came and told them that he's also missing around 400€ .
I went today to the police office and they told me to go tomorrow because the person responsible for this case isn't available today.
How do I go about this, The security and the police both saw my things outside, but how am I going to get my money? my medal? I had our first positive pregnancy test in the closet and now it's broken.
I was planning to buy things for our first baby in September, but now I have no money, and the next 3 salaries are already going to pay my debts, how can this guy pay me my money if he isn't even working, he's living on bürgergeld.
What if he denies it? I'm so confused
here's a video of my things thrown out…

Unfortunately there’s not much you can do except filing a police report.

Im really am sorry for you. People like OP are needed in Germany, and psychos like the other guy ruining everything.
Generally speaking if your a victim of theft, you’re going to the police for a “Anzeige”. You can tell em who did it, or who you believe did it and thats it. If the theft is in Bürgergeld, no court will take money from him, cause he only get what he at least need to eat and drink in a month, so you cant get under the 500 € Bürgergeld.
But if enough people complain he will face some jailtime or even worse.
Your Money, its gone. Especially because like 1000 € isnt that much. For you it is of course, but thats how court work here, people with Bürgergeld are in favor of some advantages, exept the jobcom, nobody can take money away from them.
Report it, document it. It looks like you have followed all the steps of a law abiding citizen.
Tbh I would go ballistic and end up in a cell if someone did this to me.
Wow these people who get free housing and care have no gratitude at all. It’s a disgrace I see it in all European countries. They behave like this because there are no consequences. Their home countries are governed with an iron fist.
Most likely you wont get it.
Since the other guy is also not having any real income, you wont be able to get the money by law. (We have a saying “you cant reach into a naked mams pocket”). This means there is no money the police could take.
Why did you keep so much money at an insecure place? Goto a bank and open an account. Ask explicitly for a “Jedermannskonto” (You cant overdraft those and the bank MUST issue you one by law)
