Today I visited the tripoint of Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, making my bike be in three countries at the same time

  1. Hey! I visited too not so long ago, late at night when it was super misty, we were staying in a little house so we went late at night. It was super surreal, the mist was like a movie, and since we were the only ones there it truly felt amazingly eerie, I’d visit theme parks build that way. Like we were in Silent Hill

We get to the point, and the battery was so low we had no light. So although we were there, we could barely see it.

Fantastic night and super fun to try to be at three countries at the same time!

  2. I love Schengen. I was cycling and at one point thought “hey, I know I’m in Belgium now, but where was the border?”. Had to pull up Google Maps to find it. Turns out it was indicated by a little plaque on a reflector on the side of the road.

  3. So this might be a bit dark. But if you get killed there, and your body drops over all the countries… Who’s jurisdiction do you stay in?

  4. Ah the dreilandenpunkt . I’ve been there. Rubbish hill. There’s a fantastic pub just over the border, (on the German side, not quite predictably)

  5. As an American it’s really weird for me to think of how much bloodshed has occurred over and around and through this space, and how comparatively peaceful and serene it is now.
