Oslo’s new Public Library, opened last year. Free, open to everyone until 10 p.m. every day; there’s a wine bar; views to die for Tags:Europe 12 comments It’s full of study spaces and reading nooks, places you can eat your lunch & charge your phone. Borrow books, music, films, etc. credit: @CatJarman, twitter Seems like you guys care more about architecture than the geopolitics of the modern world. Maybe that’s the angle and not sure what is on the other floors ofc, but I see quite a lack of *books* in this shot. My local bookstore up the street has at least twice the amount of books on 20sqm. I will just assume there are lots of books in this library worthy of this nice building outside of this shot. > Free, open to everyone Aren’t all libraries supposed be like that? Shopping mall vibes A wine bar ? I can’t think of anyone more likely to start a fight than a bunch of book nerds with 3 glass of pinot grigio in them. Joice is too hard *<SMACK>* Sci-Fi has been shit since Ian Banks died *<BOOF>* The Hugo Awards are just virtue signaling now *<CRASH>* Is it full of homeless people? Genuine question as a former Vancouverite. Our “main” library is amazing but I rarely go there just because of the sheer stench. That’s stunning. I think the good folk over at r/architectureporn would like to see this. A wine glass in Norway costs 85€, but the books are for free! It’s truly a hideous building when you see it from the outside. Its an ugly wall with some unexplainable features. Reminds me abit of the huge library in the middle of Brum: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Library_of_Birmingham Airport Leave a ReplyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
