The EU parliament on Wednesday adopted a sweeping reform of Europe’s asylum policies that will both harden border procedures and force all the bloc’s 27 nations to share responsibility. The parliament’s main political groups overcame opposition from far-right and far-left parties to pass the new migration and asylum pact — enshrining a difficult overhaul nearly a decade in the making. Monte Francis reports.

  1. Ok, however it will be better when right-wing parties will takeover in every European country soon enough. To just speak about "stricter migration rules and harden border procedures" is not enough, when what is needed is the procedure of repatriation.

  2. Politicians, serve the needs of those you represent or be replaced by those that will, whom you will call “the far right.”

  3. I'm generally far left but it's clear that new rules are needed. Why is it that who can come in are the ones who have enough money to pay to the human smugglers?
I would actually prefer if we would build local offices to decide first and then even pay a plane to those who actually deserve it or need it.
At least then we chose and it's not just the brainwashed by the amazing Europe of Tiktok.

  4. Protesters & their beloved politicians – Human rights Asylum rights!
Some random bloke – Would you be willing to house a refugee family?
Protesters & their beloved politicians – Ehh not now – I have other things to do

“It is said that no one truly knows a nation until one has been inside its jails. A nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens, but its lowest ones.” – Nelson Mandela 🥂🥂

  6. US and UK created sdgs. Obama also made a promise at the United Nations nine years ago. Diversity. Affirmative action. These are the same. Send the criminal to the US or UK. they will accept it as diversity.

  7. I'm sure that the riffraff that showed up to protest the voting was entirely comprised of born and raised europeans. 😒

  8. 1:30 — WOW… So it is “a HUGE achievement for Europe, and this EXCELLENT achievement is built on the OUTSTANDING work of so many!” I am suspicious of ANYONE who uses so many superlatives in a row like that, ESPECIALLY given how controversial the legislation is. It seems like she’s TRYING to be inflammatory and Donald Trump-like. The EU needs to get a clue and stop moving demonizing anyone not on the left.

  9. I don't see why Europe should take in rest of the world. Most immigrants are just looking for a free meal ticket and degrading and ruining the European values. Especially Muslims hate European culture. I do understand how Germany, due to its 2WW history feels like they have to constantly turn their other cheek, but this approach is destroying the very core of European value system of democracy and gender equality.

  10. Bloody colonialists first robbed everything, then stop people from getting part of what used to be theirs. Fortress europe is simply disgusting, paying poor countries to keep immigrants away, regardless of how they get treated. Hypocrites to the core!!

  11. Igor Popov on Ukrainian ICTV Pinchuk TV 9:45h CET announces the Date 16/17th June iof the Peace Conference on the Buergenstock near Luzern Switzerland. How on earth could Roosevelt support General Popov from Broszip Tito killing millions of kids around Madrid in Spain. The impact of this conference is to release Ukrainian refugees from the asylum restrictions initiatives by the EU at least in Switzerland

  12. The EU has long lost it’s mind, and this deliberate churn of desperate civilization—despite its relatively recent history of the third-world violence it brings—will ultimately find itself smashed into unrecognizable bits one day.

    And will richly deserve it.

  13. This will not make it all the way to the end. The EU cannot agree on anything. I am so sad that my tax monies contribute to this privileged chaos.
