12 years ago a poor guy slipped on the ice and became an internet sensation. The footage was filmed by news cameraman @colmwhatyalike and here’s the story of how the moment was captured #BehindtheScenes #cameraman https://t.co/kwUUV5QlBT

  1. I can’t believe in all these years the guy hasn’t come-forward. He’s a legend. A national treasure. Everybody would want to buy the man a pint. There’s probably money to be made out of it.

  2. I slipped on ice once late in the evening when nobody was around, proper up in the air and down on my arse, but as I was on the ground just realising what happened I heard a cackle of laughter from a red car parked at the top of a little side street across the road. Sure what can ya do

  3. “I wasn’t even sure if we were recording”

Yeah, sure you weren’t. Probably watered the path the night before .

  4. It’s such a classic, you can tell he knows he’s being filmed so awkwardly speeds up a bit in a “better look like I’ve places to be” kind of way and then disaster strikes. It wouldn’t have happened if the camera weren’t there.

Then again, if a man falls on ice and no one is around to see it…
