Next week there will be a decisive meeting with Xavi regarding his continuity. Barça will sit down with him after El Clásico to confirm if he wants to continue and under what conditions. The club does not want to delay things further.

  1. I hope they can not convince him. Xavi clearly feels unwell here at the moment, you can see that he is stressed out of his mind.

  2. We need a change, a more experienced manager that brings new ideas. Sadly, whoever is brought won’t have any resources to sign but maybe a DM, and that’s probably it.

  3. There’s nothing to talk about. Xavi’s not the guy. Yesterday was a reminder of that. We went on such a strange run that we almost forgot about the reason Xavi quit in the first place. He can’t handle the pressure.

  4. I can’t help but think this is more to do with leaving BEFORE the end of the season.

If Flick is doing his homework and already packing his bags, I get the feeling they don’t want Xavi dilly dallying.

  5. Hope he stays. Is he perfect? No but then again no one apart from Pep is perfect. Even Klopp will face issues trying to implement his style here and we don’t have any budget to sign players for Klopp, unless we go on a selling spree which again I doubt will help much since we’re notoriously bad sellers going into a buyer’s market.

Ideally Zubimendi and a backup goalkeeper along with a pacy left winger will be needed this summer (in that order of priority)

To everyone who’s pissed off at Xavi, let’s be real. He over delivered in his first season and the second one we actually had a proper European run with a second place finish. Not huge by themselves. But considering our position pre Xavi. This is a significant improvement.

For some comparison. Pep in his first season at Man City went trophyless and it took him a few seasons to actually win the UCL at City.

  6. I don’t mind him staying from a football perspective but it seems he isn’t ready for that job mentally, at those stages he has to keep his shit together and not getting a red card every second game, I can understand his passion and I love it but there is a clear line.

  7. The only reason I’m dissapointed with Xavi is taking a red card during the QF.

I don’t think leaving your 10man squad stranded in a UCL QF is the thing to do. Stay on the touch line and shout at your team, give instructions, point out small mistakes, make slight adjustments, raise their morale, whatever, don’t just go in the stands and watch like you’re watching at TV from home goddamit.

  8. He needs a break, the breakdown during the match was a sign of that.

Let him take a break, coach a less profile club with less media attention and come back when hes more ready. You have seen Carlo, Mourinho do it with Madrid and Chelsea where they were even fired and came back to manage again.

  9. We all thank Xavi for what he has done

I think objectively we need a change in dynamic at the club and improve our Physicality and our Mental game…

I Think a Top Coach can take us there to the next level.

  10. Personally would like for him to stay.
Give him a DM (zubimendi, kimmich .ik we are broke).
Optional winger ..and we have a good enough squad to compete in any competition.
However xavi needs to be calm he is the manager he can’t be taking red card as toffees for Christmas.
Give him time ,we ll even build a strong mentality with time.

  11. i feel like he has made his choice very public and very clear

  12. Thinking from Barca perspective: PLEASE STAY. Not the best manager but he is improving the team obviously.

Thinking from Xavi perspective: Don’t stay, this job is hell
