House hearing turns into chaos as Republican chairman challenged over Biden ‘corruption’ smear: ‘No, you need therapy!’

Wednesday’s hearing formed part of the ongoing[ Republican inquiry](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/impeachment-inquiry) into [Mr Biden](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/joe-biden), which accuses the president of “[corruption](https://www.independent.co.uk/topic/corruption)” through alleged family business dealings with foreign powers, as well as unsubstantiated allegations of bribery. Another line of inquiry has been related to [Mr Biden’s work as vice president in Ukraine](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/johnson-foreign-aid-vote-israel-ukraine-b2530391.html).

    So far the enquiry has not uncovered any wrongdoing by the president, which Mr Raskin attempted to highlight multiple times during the hearing.

  19. Elected officials and candidates should be taxed for each lie they propagate, and mandated to publicly acknowledge their lies on news platforms. Failure to comply should result in forfeiture of their position or candidacy, with vacant seats being filled by an alternate party. Additionally, news networks neglecting to report such occurrences should face sanctions. Each offense comes with a tax that is compounded from the last.

All the nonsense they speak, all the absolutely insane shit they go on about and consistently, unendingly lie about; the more and more it just feels like they are scrambling so fucking hard to make heads or tales of the situation that is: Donald Trump. He never ran as a Democrat so he never did a damn thing to the Democrat party.

    But the Republican party? Trump is costing them $hundreds of millions, his nepotism took over the RNC full stop, they keep trying to push something, ANYTHING forward that could even slightly have the possibility of putting Trump BACK on “equal footing” (in the “narrative” type of way) with Biden which then explains precisely why they are flailing about SO hard and failing even harder than they’re trying.

    Because they’re drowning in some really hard facts:

    A) they are running out of time to “get Biden” whilst Trump already has **2** impeachments (first one to do this! woo!) **and** fucking 88 felony counts. Biden’s first term has mere months left and 0 impeachments, 0 charges of any kind.

    B) they’re fighting each other almost as often as they are trying to (pathetically failing at) fight the Democrats. They are splitting their focus and now have far too many “enemies”. This is not sustainable.

    C) Trump is costing them a serious $fortune ALL just so they can get back to “square 1” where his criminal trials and his vast fines are behind them, which would then put them on “equal footing” with Biden. This is **completely unattainable** *with only mere months left to go***.**

    D) Trump is fighting one of the most intensely sharp uphill battles in history and I just get that feeling that his chances of winning are drastically low when considering all the gigantic amount of baggage that the Republican party has to deal with JUST to get them back to square 1, including fines, truncated appearance-availability (due to Trump being required to be at every court date), the absolutely massive amount of money they need to **starve out down ticket candidates for** *JUST* to have a chance at being in the clear of even more catastrophic fines and the threat of jail time.

    I just don’t see how their own voters who ARE the educated ones: **don’t see this**.
