Interesting. Seeing how little chances he got so far I assumed he’d be leaving this summer but I guess this ties in with us 1) not having moeny to get a good DM and 2) Marquez likely taking over
E: might also have some implications for the Roberto renewal or a potential Christensen sale
If we lose Clasico and La Liga seems done, it seems right to give players like Casado, Faye more minutes and rest players like Pedri, Gundo, Yamal etc. For the remaining season.
He’s too small to be a pivot at the club.
I really find it hard to believe that the club rates him, even as a backup option. Casado is 3-4 years than Yamal and Cubarsi, one year older than Gavi, and is the same age as Bellingham. With Romeu so bad and us without a DM, he barely got any chance. We didn’t even try in him as a the starter in Cadiz game. If he was any good, I think Deco and others would have asked Xavi to give him more chances after our Romeu disaster and our midfield’s injuries.
Im not sure if he has a future with barcas first team but at least this wouldn’t follow the wasteful trend of letting la masia talent contract run out and sign with another first team club for free. I think this deal could look similar to Riad / Marmal / Collado deals.
I just don’t see it. If he was the real deal we’d have seen a lot more of him. Even when he has come on, I’ve never really been wowed by him. But I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Obviously I’d love for him to prove himself and save us money in the process
