It seems there have been loads of cases of private renters in Scotland getting huge rent increases now that the cap has been taken off. Anyone else had a massive rent hike?
Isn’t there a 12% cap on top of a sliding scale for cases where there is a huge gap between current and market rent?
Nothing to do with lettuce Liz’s financial catastrophy raising mortgage interest rates.
Naaah, must just be those evil nats at it again with their pogroms on those poor landlords. Won’t someone please think of the asset rich!

Horrible. Good thing it can be contested under legislation brought in by the Scottish Government. In England? The free market will sort it.
How long had it been since her last rent raise? Because the behaviour of the government has destabilised the market landlords are trying to play catch up with inflation to recoup from the last rent freeze and future proof themselves incase it happens again.
If I froze your pay without notice for a few years and then told you that you get 1 shot at asking asking for a raise but I’d probably not let you have another one after that, what would you do?
