  1. How can they claim that? The Labour party hasn’t investigated yet and thus there is no evidence of criminality for the Met or any other authority to pursue.

And even if they’re was, he as has worked _very_ hard and just needs to say he is sorry.

Could be worse, he could be the home secretay!

  2. The more worrying aspect is this ’employed her son as his diary manager’… Nothing suspicious here at all.

  3. If this is true, then he needs to be kicked out of the Labour Party. But it doesn’t even sound like a real investigation has even happened yet.

  4. Has he tried saying he didn’t realise it was a bribe while being handed the money in a bag with a £ sign from someone wearing an eye mask and striped shirt?

  5. Puts “an existing UK-based well known Tory donor contributed to improvements at Number 10” into perspective. Not to mention Number 10 staff stretching the leeway for what constitutes a work meeting in a government outdoor area, “The son of an alleged Chinese government agent has been literally instructing a Labour MP who to meet and when” (employed to manage his diary) and the MP has been receiving hundreds of thousands in donations linked to alleged CCP influence. *That’s* what a foreign influence scandal looks like.

  6. All donations declared and taken in good faith. Cooperating with MI5. Would be very surprised if he knew he was taking the money directly from Beijing, what with the woman in question being a spy who survived walking around the House of Commons for six years.

Of course the Labour party should immediately investigate themselves and learn important lessons from the findings.

  7. Need to know why she spent so much on him.

She spent money all over the place but the biggest chunk went to him and he of course employed her son as well, why? she wasn’t doing this for nothing and when someone comes back month after month with big wads of cash they’re obviously getting something in return.

  8. I can’t get the thought out my mind when hearing this story that it’s just a bit of shit with Labours name on it to drop as a distraction.

  9. He also alerted MI5 off his own back and followed the usual parliamentary procedures. Nothing to see here.

Tbf, I’d probably do the same. Take the money, alert MI5, then go buy a lambo.
