So i applied for vpd a week or so ago and got my vpd on April15th. On the pdf it says am eligible for all academic disciplines. How is it this possible? I have noticed this mistake when my friend told me that uni assist sent them an error email saying they weren't eligible for all academic disciplines too. Can someone help me out? What should i do? Should i contact them and tell them that they forgot to specify what disciplines exactly im eligible for? Also, please note that i have already used this vpd to apply for hamburg. I dont even know what to do anymore.

  1. Well if they deem your qualification equivalent to the German Abitur, then you can in fact potentially study everything you want. In Germany we do our final exams for university entrance qualification in some, but not all subjects. You are not barred from studying Physics, for example, just because you didn’t take university entrance qualification courses in Physics, because in Germany the fact you completed your Abitur means you are qualified to study anything.

They make that distinction because there also is the Fachabitur which is bound to a specific discipline or area of studies (e.g. Social Sciences) which restricts you in your choice of studies.
